Dear dancers,
I have the very sad news that Elsa Wolliaston died – unexpectedly – on 12 March.
It is beyond belief. She is in our hearts, in our memories, in our conversations; she lives on within us.
Elsa Wolliaston has been – and in every respect still is – dancer, teacher, mentor and so much more. She had the wonderful gift of moving people in every way: with her performances, her art of teaching, her humour, love, and just the way she was. She made us laugh, cry and wonder. Furthermore, she had the vision of showing us, not only the world but the universe in all its facets by giving us the space, possibility and her hand to discover something new and exciting.
Elsa had so many traits, as are in life itself. And all of these are intertwined with her greatest love – DANCE.
Elsa was and is dance itself!
Paris: The funeral took place on Friday, 20 March, at 1.30 pm in the main hall of the Père Lachaise Crematorium (Paris 20).
Berlin: I am preparing a Memorial Celebration in Elsa’s honour to celebrate and say goodbye to her.
Detailed information and date will follow.
Warm regards,
Christa Flaig-Isaacs
